extended until the 17th July
Hi guys,
I am an emerging curator and am seeking applications for an exhibition that I am curating as part of the Fringe Festival. Here are the details please feel free to email me at
communications@guildfordlanegallery.org Exhibition Concept ‘Into the Red’ is an exhibition that seeks to explore issues that see the world becoming increasingly fraught with danger. Global financial crises, climate change, war, pandemics … We find ourselves in a global landscape that is increasingly unsure and swiftly changing – how have you reacted to these recent pressures in your artistic practice? Would you like to create a work that responds to these events? Can you see their affect on your existing work consciously or unconsciously?
Artist’s impressions are an important reflection of the world in which they create – providing perceptions, sensations and new insight for their audience. Historically times of conflict and pressure have seen artists creating in new ways in reaction to a changing environment. We want your vision of the world in 2009 – so get creating or look through your folio with an eye for what is driving your work ‘Into the Red’.
This exhibition will be part of the Fringe Festival and is a curated exhibition; applicants will be accepted for the exhibition on the basis of artistic merit and relevance to the theme (existing work/artistic statement).
Exhibition Dates 23rd September – 4th October
