A bit of information for those wishing to enter an Autralian Art Competition

Australian artists are required to either supply an ABN on the Personal/Gallery Details Form or complete and sign a supplier statement.

Without these, the government requires that 48.5% of any payments due be withheld.

This is true, but to fill in the one page declaration to avoid the 48% is just too easy and most galleries or organisations dealing with this do have them ready for their artists. I think the 48% thing, does scare far more than there is any need for.
